3rd Primary Care Academy 2026

The Health Promotion and Health Policy Association was among the organizations providing scientific support to the 3rd Primary Care Academy 2026, held in Dubai on 3 October 2026. Organized under the theme "Updates in Clinical Practice," the event addressed current scientific developments in primary healthcare and internal medicine in particular, as well as in metabolic health, cardiovascular diseases, chronic disease management, smoking cessation, and preventive healthcare.

Our association's contributions

Prof. Dr. G. Nurhan İnce, President of the Smoking and Cessation Behaviors Academy, was among the speakers at the event. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Meryem Merve Ören Çelik from the Academy, with her presentation titled "One Size Does Not Fit All: Profiling Tobacco Dependence for Personalized Smoking Cessation", described the assessment of tobacco dependence according to individual characteristics and the individualized approach to smoking cessation.

Prof. Dr. Asım Oktay Ergene, President of the Cardio-Renal-Metabolic Diseases Academy, was also among the speakers at the congress. In the international panel titled "The Reality of Chronic Disease Management — Adherence, Access and Clinical Risk Across Regions," Ergene contributed a Turkish perspective to discussions on treatment adherence, regional differences in access to healthcare services, and chronic disease management.
