Prof. Dr. Bülent Gümüşel

Prof. Dr. Bülent Gümüşel graduated from Hacettepe University Faculty of Pharmacy in 1988 and completed his master’s and doctoral studies in Pharmacology at the same university. As part of his doctoral research, he conducted studies at the Cardiopulmonary Research Laboratory of Tulane University School of Medicine in the United States. He later worked as a visiting researcher at Louisiana State University Medical Center and the University of Illinois College of Medicine.

Throughout his academic career, he served as a faculty member and Dean at Hacettepe University Faculty of Pharmacy and as Dean of Erzincan University Faculty of Pharmacy. He contributed to the establishment of Lokman Hekim University, where he served as Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Vice Rector, and Rector. He currently serves as a faculty member in the Department of Pharmacology at Istanbul Okan University Faculty of Pharmacy.

Prof. Dr. Gümüşel has served on scientific and regulatory committees within the Ministry of Health and the Social Security Institution. He has also held various professional leadership positions, including Secretary General of the Turkish Pharmacological Society and President of the Council of Deans of Faculties of Pharmacy. He has authored more than 100 scientific articles and presented over 100 papers at national and international conferences. As the co-founder and General Manager of Mentor R&D Education and Consultancy and Mentor Research and Development, Prof. Dr. Gümüşel contributes his expertise in pharmacology, health policy, and healthcare professional education to the Smoking and Cessation Behaviors Academy.
