Prof. Dr. Memet Taşkın Eğici graduated from Atatürk University Faculty of Medicine and completed his residency training in Family Medicine at Haseki Training and Research Hospital in 1999. Between 2006 and 2012, he served as Deputy Chief Physician and Field Coordinator for the Turkish Ministry of Health, contributing to the evaluation and planning of healthcare services in Türkiye and several other countries as part of the Health Transformation Program.
From 2012 to 2016, he served as Head of Medical Services at the Beyoğlu Public Hospitals Union. At the invitation of the Government of Punjab, Pakistan, he worked as a consultant between 2016 and 2017 within the scope of the “Consultancy Services for Supporting the Health Sector Reforms Process in Punjab” project. Between 2013 and 2017, he worked as a chief resident/faculty member at Şişli Hamidiye Etfal Training and Research Hospital. Since 2017, he has been serving as a faculty member and as the administrative and educational lead of the Family Medicine Clinic at the University of Health Sciences, Haydarpaşa Numune Training and Research Hospital.
Prof. Dr. Eğici holds a master’s degree in Hospital and Healthcare Institutions Management and a JCI Accreditation Surveyor Certificate. His academic and professional interests include family medicine residency training and practice, healthcare management, quality and accreditation, immunization, tobacco dependence, migrant health, and travel health. He has authored numerous national and international publications in these fields. He currently serves as a member of the Ministry of Health Immunization Advisory Board and is also a member of the TAHUD Scientific Committee and the EKMUD Adult Immunization Working Group.
