Physical Activity Fitness Scorecard Training and Physical Activity Prescription Leadership Program
In order to prevent physical inactivity, which is one of the biggest public health problems of the world and our country, the "Physical Activity Fitness Scorecard Training and Physical Activity Prescription Leadership Program" was initiated with the support of the Turkish Ministry of Health and the Turkish Ministry of National Education. Ministry of Health and Ministry of National Education and with the support of the Health Promotion and Health Policy Association, the "Physical Activity Fitness Scorecard Training and Physical Activity Prescription Leadership Program" was launched.
Within the framework of the program, 7413 physical education teachers and 1889 family physicians were trained in organizations organized in 12 different cities during the year. After the trainings, Physical Education Teachers will fill out physical activity report cards for their middle and high school students and Family Physicians will write prescriptions for physical activity. GPs will regularly provide encouragement and advice to position physical activity as part of maintaining health and combating chronic diseases. For middle and high school students, a report card will be introduced to raise awareness of physical inactivity through Physical Education lessons.
The Physical Activity Fitness Report Card will be given twice a year, at the beginning and end of the academic year, and will assess sit-ups, push-ups, sit-stand flexibility, body weight and height measurements.
The Physical Activity Fitness Report Card will not affect the physical education and sports course grade in the main report card and the information about the children will be kept confidential and shared with each child's family. Efforts will be made to ensure that parents can access the Physical Activity Fitness Report Card from the e-school database in the same way as they can access other report card grades.
The Ministry of National Education has launched the "Nutrition Friendly School" program, which aims to create the opportunity for students to study in environments where appropriate living conditions can be provided in order to raise healthier and more active new generations in schools and to create a real sensitivity in this regard. Schools are entitled to receive a certificate after fulfilling the required procedures. In the provinces where the programs are organized, certificates are distributed to the schools that are entitled to receive certificates. In this direction, 2268 schools have been entitled to receive "Nutrition Friendly School" certificates so far in the project, which was implemented with the protocol signed in 2010.
All participants and citizens were invited to move by playing games with the giant 2.60-meter ball called Movable, which was taken to the provinces where the program was held as a symbol of the program.
