Physical Activity Fitness Report Card Training Kit for Physical Education Teachers

According to the "Chronic Diseases Risk Factors Survey" conducted by the Turkish Ministry of Health in 2011, 87% of women and 77% of men in Turkey do not engage in sufficient physical activity. These data reveal that sedentary lifestyles pose a significant threat to our country.

In order to address this problem and make physical activity a culture of life, various practices have been implemented. Physical activity awareness was raised through teachers and family physicians. Within the scope of the application, parameters such as sit-ups, push-ups, flexibility measurements, body weight and height are evaluated. Physical activity values do not affect students' physical education course grades and can be viewed by parents and students through the e-school system.

Bodily education teachers were trained on the Physical Activity Fitness Scorecard Training program and the issues to be considered when grading students on physical fitness. Family physicians also received training on the applicability of the physical activity prescriptions they recommend to their patients.
